Perry got an elbow off to shift the fight to the other side of the ring, which bought a few seconds and nothing more. A second body kick landed and it was over at 2:38 of the first round.

Perry entered at -900. Jenkins was +600. For a betting market to price a fight that far apart and then see it end inside one round is unusual, and it is the sort of result that gets read as a fluke.
It was not one. The shoulder decided the finish, but the matchup was already closer than the numbers claimed, and the reason is in the two men’s records.
The replacement was never the easy option

Brandon Jenkins is 34 and had a 17-11 professional record going in, built across nearly seventeen years. He went 0-2 in the UFC, then worked through LFA, the PFL, Gamebred Bareknuckle and Karate Combat, and beat Chris Avila by split decision on an MVP MMA card in May.
He was in Nevada on Thursday when the call came, and flew Las Vegas to Orlando on Friday morning to make weight for a main event he had not trained for. He won it in under three minutes.
Perry paid twice
This is where the week gets expensive. When Dillon Danis pulled out two days out with a deep arm laceration, Perry did not simply inherit a different opponent. He took what he described as a massive pay cut, reported elsewhere as a 50% reduction, because the pay-per-view had been sold on Danis and Danis was no longer on it.
So Perry accepted less money to face a harder opponent, and lost inside a round with a dislocated shoulder. Every part of that is a consequence of a card built on one name.

The card held up, the headline did not
Duel Arena 1 delivered what it promised structurally. Ten bouts across MMA, boxing and kickboxing, in a ring, from the Kia Center in Orlando. Jimi Manuwa stopped Chase Sherman in the second round of a heavyweight boxing match. Alex Nicholson finished Brad Taylor by TKO at 2:47 of the first. AJ Cunningham knocked out Joe Penafiel at 4:04 of the first. Paul Miller edged Ben Azoulay by split decision in kickboxing, and Ryan Pownall beat Patrick Clark Jr. by disqualification.
What it did not deliver was the fight people bought. The main event lost one man before the bell and the other inside three minutes.
Jenkins wants Nate Diaz
The winner did not waste the microphone. Jenkins called for Nate Diaz, who is Perry’s most recent opponent, which is a sharp piece of matchmaking logic: beat the man, ask for the man who beat him.
Whether that fight exists is a different question, and it depends on money rather than merit. But Jenkins has the one thing this circuit values and cannot manufacture, which is a result that nobody predicted.
What to watch next
Two things. Perry’s shoulder, because a dislocation at 34 with his mileage is not a two-week problem, and he has now lost the leverage that made him bookable. And whether Duel Arena runs a second event at all, after a debut whose main event was rewritten twice in 48 hours.
