Jaqueline Amorim suspended 6 months for ostarine as the anti-doping agency points to contamination

Jaqueline Amorim has been suspended for 6 months. The UFC’s anti-doping agency, Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD), announced on Thursday, October 16 that the Brazilian strawweight tested positive for low levels of ostarine in 2 samples taken over the summer. The agency found the results more consistent with contamination than intentional use. Amorim can fight again from February 17, 2027.

Key takeaways

Jaqueline Amorim suspended: the facts

The substance

Ostarine is an anabolic agent on the list of substances banned at all times under the UFC anti-doping policy. It was found at low concentration.

The tests

The 2 samples were collected out of competition in Fort Lauderdale, on July 29 and August 17, 2026. Since the 2nd was taken before Amorim learned of the 1st result, they count as a single violation.

The dates

The ban runs from August 17, 2026, the date of her provisional suspension, and ends on February 17, 2027.

Why only 6 months

Cooperation

The policy allows a reduced sanction when an athlete fully cooperates. CSAD says Amorim did.

The contamination finding

The agency cites her testing history, the low levels, unverified supplements and the known prevalence of ostarine contamination. It found her exposure gave her no significant performance advantage.

Similar cases

Several UFC fighters have received 6-month bans in recent years over contaminated supplements, such as Douglas Silva de Andrade and Azamat Murzakanov.

Amorim provided full and complete cooperation as defined under the UFC ADP.
