About this gym
Syndicate MMA is a mixed martial arts gym in Las Vegas. The women's divisions are a real part of its roster rather than an afterthought, and more than one weight class carries several female fighters.
Why several women in one division matters
In most gyms, a woman preparing for a fight trains with men who stand in for her opponent. Gyms do it because they have no alternative, and it works up to a point. But standing in is not the same as matching.
Reach, hip strength and the way weight shifts in a scramble cannot be adjusted by asking a partner to go lighter. A man holding back is still a man holding back, and the feel of the exchange is wrong in ways that only show up on fight night.
A gym with several women in the same division does not have to make that compromise. Each of them can spend a full camp with partners who fight at her weight — the ordinary condition for men in most gyms, and a far less common one for women.
None of this appears in a record, which is why it is worth saying here: two fighters below with similar results may have prepared under very different conditions.
A wide roster without crowding
Beyond that, the fighters here are spread across many weight classes without any one of them dominating. Light heavyweight is represented, which is worth noting — it is one of the thinner divisions across the sport, and gyms of this scale often skip it.
What you will find below
The roster is mostly American. The rest come from several countries, a fighter at a time rather than from any single scene abroad. A good share compete at the top level of the sport, and the others are spread across regional promotions.
The pages below list every fighter in this catalogue whose most recent bout came out of this gym, with their weight class, nationality, record and how each of their last five fights ended.
