Abdoulaye Kane spoiled the night for the Moroccan crowd. The Senegalese heavyweight beat Badr Medkouri by TKO in round 1, at 4:06, on Saturday at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca, in the PFL Africa main event. Around that non-tournament fight, the semifinals produced the finalists at welterweight, lightweight and bantamweight. The finals take place later this year in Rwanda.

At bantamweight

Dwight Joseph beat Boule Godogo by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). The other semifinal was not on the weigh-in list, and its outcome is not reported by the sources consulted.

Outside the tournament

Reda Abdellaoui submitted Salim Mhamdi with a rear-naked choke in round 1 (2:11). Mouhamed Ba, Jane Osigwe and Abderrahman Errachidy won by unanimous decision.

The PFL Africa finals will be held later this year in Rwanda, with 100,000 dollars and the season title at stake, according to Yahoo Sports. No date is given.
