About this gym
Elevation Fight Team is a professional mixed martial arts team based in Denver, Colorado. It is worth knowing before you read the list below that it is a team rather than a single gym: its fighters train across several Denver facilities run by different members of the coaching staff, not all under one roof.
What being a team rather than a gym changes
A gym is usually one building with one mat. This is not, and the difference is practical rather than administrative.
A fighter here is not limited to the partners who happen to walk into a single room. Striking, wrestling and ground work can each be done where the coach for that part of the game actually is. The trade is that nothing happens by accident: a training week has to be organised across sites, where a conventional gym puts everyone in front of each other by default.
It also means the roster below is held together by a coaching group rather than by an address, which is a different kind of continuity — and a more portable one.
Wide coverage, and women training with women
For its size the team covers a lot of the weight range, and more than one fighter competes in the same women's class.
That second point matters more than it looks. In most gyms a woman preparing for a fight trains with men who stand in for her opponent, because there is no alternative. Reach, hip strength and the way weight shifts in a scramble cannot be adjusted by asking a partner to go lighter. Having someone who fights at your weight is the ordinary condition for men and a far less common one for women.
What you will find below
The roster is mostly American, with a few fighters from several other countries. Most compete at the top level of the sport, and the others are concentrated in one further promotion rather than scattered.
The pages below list every fighter in this catalogue whose most recent bout came out of this team, with their weight class, nationality, record and how each of their last five fights ended.
