Oktagon 94 results: Kozma submits Eckerlin at the buzzer
2 seconds from the bell
The main event looked headed for the break when David Kozma took Christian Eckerlin’s back and locked in the rear-naked choke. Eckerlin tapped at 4:58 of round 1, 2 seconds before the end of the frame. The bout was contested under an 80 kg limit, with Kozma weighing 79.9 kg and Eckerlin 79.4 kg.
A 3rd straight win
The former Oktagon welterweight champion moves to 35-15 and extends his run to 3 wins, after Jozef Wittner in February and David Zawada on August 1. After the fight, Kozma told iSport he didn’t think he could finish the choke, that he went for it almost on a hunch, and that he had just come through another fight without taking a single clean shot.
A bitter night for Eckerlin
Eckerlin, the face of German MMA and a winner in the same stadium in 2024, drops to 18-9 in front of his home crowd. He came in off a decision win over Matouš Kohout in March.
Vémola ends Vosgröne's unbeaten run
A successful comeback
Karlos Vémola, 11 years older than his opponent, shut down Frédéric Vosgröne’s leg attacks in round 1, then outworked him standing and on the mat. After a heavy slam against the cage, he finished with ground strikes late in round 2. Vosgröne, a social media sensation in Germany, suffers his 1st loss and falls to 5-1, while Vémola improves to 39-9. The Czech thanked his opponent for bringing him out of retirement.
Coga wins at home
Frankfurt’s own Max Coga beat Christian Jungwirth by unanimous decision, 29-28, 30-27 and 29-28, in the main card welterweight bout.
Duric outclasses Diakiese
21-year-old Fedor Duric beat former UFC lightweight Marc Diakiese by unanimous decision, 30-27 on all 3 cards. It is the biggest win of the prospect’s young career.
Nevěřil jsem, že to dotáhnu. Zkusil jsem to trochu na náhodu, ale jsem hrozně rád, že to takhle vyšlo.
