UFC returns to Doha on November 21, a year after selling out its Qatar debut

The UFC returns to Doha. The promotion and Visit Qatar have announced a Fight Night at the ABHA Arena on Saturday, November 21, one year after the country’s first UFC event sold out. No fight has been announced yet, and tickets go on sale on Friday, October 9.

What the UFC announced for Doha

A date, a venue, and nothing else yet

The announcement came jointly from the UFC and Visit Qatar: a Fight Night at the ABHA Arena on Saturday, November 21. Ticket prices and the fight card will come later, which is the normal order for an international card booked two months out. Tickets go on sale on Friday, October 9, and fans can register interest before that through the promotion’s Qatar page.

What Dana White said

The UFC’s chief executive framed the return around his own visit last year, praising the city and its hospitality. The tourism board answered in kind, with Visit Qatar’s chief executive Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi calling the event an important addition to the country’s growing calendar of world-class sport.

Why the UFC is going back to Qatar

A debut that sold out

The first Doha card, in November 2025, was a success the promotion has repeated publicly since. Arman Tsarukyan submitted Dan Hooker in the main event, and Ian Machado Garry beat Belal Muhammad on the same night. A sold-out arena and two results that mattered in the rankings are exactly the combination that gets a market a second date.

A region that keeps buying fight nights

Qatar joins a Gulf calendar where combat sports have become a tool of sports tourism, and where governments pay for events that fill hotels out of season. For the UFC, it is a November slot in a friendly time zone for European viewers, and a market where its first attempt worked.

When I visited Doha last year, I was blown away by the people, the hospitality, the food, and everything the city has to offer.

What to watch between now and November 21

The card is the open question

Nothing has been announced. The obvious storyline would be a Doha return for Tsarukyan, who headlined the first event, but he has other business first: he faces Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331 this Saturday in Los Angeles, and both men have said the winner was promised the next lightweight title shot. A fighter in that position does not usually take a Fight Night two months later.

Two months of bookings

Expect the card to fill in from late September, once the autumn pay-per-views are set. International Fight Nights tend to mix a regional main event with contenders looking for a visible slot, and Qatar’s first card followed exactly that pattern.
