The Noche UFC results go well beyond Jean Silva’s finish in the main event. Brandon Moreno ended a two-fight losing streak in front of his people, Tommy McMillen got up from real trouble to stay unbeaten in the Fight of the Night, Alexa Grasso upset Manon Fiorot and Curtis Blaydes won the heavyweight fight. Silva and Grasso lead the night

The main event went to Jean Silva, who survived a first-round knockdown and submitted Jose Delgado with a one-armed rear-naked choke at 2:57 of the third round. Just before, Alexa Grasso dropped Manon Fiorot late in the first round and won a unanimous decision, 29-28 on all three cards, taking the title shot Fiorot had said was on the line.

Moreno back in the win column

The co-main event was about relief. Brandon Moreno, the former two-time flyweight champion, came in on a two-fight losing streak and needed a win in front of a Mexican crowd. He got it against Joseph Morales, by split decision: one judge scored it 28-29 for Morales, the other two 30-27 for Moreno. “That’s kind of weird but at the end, I won,” Moreno said. “I’m going to celebrate with my people. Viva Mexico! I’m super happy.”

Blaydes and Martinez by decision

At heavyweight, Curtis Blaydes beat Waldo Cortes-Acosta by unanimous decision, 29-28 on all three cards, a week after Cortes-Acosta had said that champion Tom Aspinall was not a real champion. David Martinez opened the main card with a unanimous decision over Dan Ige, 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.

Tommy McMillen and the Fight of the Night

A grudge that delivered

No fight had more build-up than Tommy McMillen against Marwan Rahiki. The two unbeaten featherweights had already been separated at the fighter hotel during fight week, and the cage settled it. In the second round Rahiki hurt McMillen with an uppercut and followed with punches and knees, and for a moment the upset looked certain.

McMillen survived and turned the fight around in the third. He dropped Rahiki, then controlled him in the grappling exchanges, dominant enough for one judge to score the round 10-8. The cards read 29-28, 29-28 and 29-27 for McMillen, who stays unbeaten, while Rahiki takes the first loss of his career. Both earned the $100,000 Fight of the Night bonus.

A 36-second debut

The fastest finish of the night came from a newcomer. Sean King III, moved onto the card on nine days’ notice after he was expected on the Contender Series, slammed Jessie Rosas and knocked him out 36 seconds into the first round. It earned him a Performance of the Night bonus, alongside Jean Silva.

Tim Elliott beat Edgar Chairez by unanimous decision (29-28 x3). Ignacio Bahamondes beat Muslim Salikhov by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28). Yousri Belgaroui stopped Djorden Santos with strikes at 4:25 of the first round. Tommy Gantt submitted Drakkar Klose with a reverse triangle choke at 2:46 of the third. Rongzhu beat Rafa Garcia by unanimous decision (29-28 x3), and Regina Tarin beat JJ Aldrich by unanimous decision (29-28 x3).
